About Me
The “Well Minded Woman” blog was birthed when I heard from dozens of my clients about a deep desire to become mentally/emotionally stable and understand how to attain peace in the chaotic world around them. In private conversations with clients and in my personal life I realized almost every person I’ve come into contact with has experienced some kind of traumatic experience in their lives that they needed to heal from, myself included.
My healing journey began when I entered into a college degree program for Social Work and realized that as much as I wanted to help others, I first had to help myself. Through years of self-work, education, mentorship and work in the field of social work I feel that I am finally in a place of stability and wellness. During my year-end reflection of 2023 I realized 10 years ago I would have never thought I could be where I am today mentally, emotionally and spiritually. God brought me through many trials I thought would break me, but slowly over time like drops of water in a river I began to flourish and thrive.
Currently I am a full time adolescent therapist and part-time counselor at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for adults. My experience in social work has been mostly in addiction services, child welfare and domestic violence. So, through my personal journey in healing from trauma and my clinical education and work experience I’d like to assist others in learning more about themselves and attain wellness in mind, body, heart and soul.
